Yesterday's hour-long premiere of Last Man Standing ranked second in the ratings and was TV's biggest 8pm comedy debut in over seven years.
Two episodes of the new Tim Allen sitcom averaged 12.95 million viewers in the 8-9pm timeslot and a 3.5/10 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic. The show finished second behind CBS's NCIS, which garnered 18.65m viewers and a 3.9/11 rating in the 18-49 demo.
Last Man Standing was TV's most-watched comedy premiere in the 8pm slot since 2004 and was the top-rated premiere among Adults 18-49 since September '06. The show gave ABC its highest Tuesday 8pm rating in the Adults 18-49 demo in two years. Last Man Standing also propelled its lead-out, Dancing with the Stars: The Results, to a season high with viewers and young adults.
